For our Spring ’26 collection, we're celebrating the women who defined their own style in the late ’70s music scene. Inspired by the film Almost Famous, Joni Mitchell, and the spirit of backstage freedom, the collection features relaxed denim, graphic tees, retro athleisure, voluminous cotton, and 70s-inspired patchwork, a starting point for the stories of the women who inspired it.

Joni Mitchell

Joni Mitchell, born Roberta Joan Anderson on November 7, 1943 in Fort Macleod, Alberta, moved to Toronto’s folk scene in 1964, where she began writing and performing the songs that would define her voice. By the late 1960s she was in Laurel Canyon, California, releasing albums like Clouds (1969) and Blue (1971) and shaping her own artistic identity, becoming a lasting inspiration for women expressing themselves on their own terms.

Penny Lane

From the film Almost Famous (2000), Penny Lane travels with her band across the U.S., navigating life on the road with curiosity and independence. Her character inspired the Penny Bomber Jacket in our Spring ’26 collection. The role was loosely inspired by real women in the 1970s rock scene, reflecting how they navigated life behind the stage.

Bianca Jagger

Bianca Jagger was known for her presence at Studio 54 and her public life in the spotlight. She was often photographed at high-profile events and parties, making her a reference point for women exploring bold, individual fashion choices.

Her iconic style informed the tailored Jagger Trousers.

Miss Mercy

A member of the GTOs in 1968 Los Angeles, Miss Mercy combined performance and casual style in her everyday and stage outfits. Her approach inspired the Mercy Track Set in our Spring ’26 collection. She later shared her experiences in interviews and memoirs, reflecting on the creative and challenging aspects of the L.A. rock scene.

Pamela Des Barres

From the GTO scene in 1969 Los Angeles, Pamela Des Barres’ bold denim jackets and rock‑and‑roll attitude made her a standout figure. Her wardrobe choices shaped our denim Pamela Tuck Jeans. Her memoirs detail life on the Sunset Strip and provide a first-hand perspective on women in music culture during the ’60s and ’70s.
